In addition to an undergraduate degree in dietetics, Marshall University offers two MS/DI opportunities through an on-site or distance program. Yearly, 11 interns are accepted to the on-site program and 35 interns are accepted to the distance program. On-site interns complete their internship and coursework on campus in Huntington, WV, while distance interns complete online coursework and supervised practice experiences in locations of their choice (distance interns are required to find their own supervised practice locations/preceptors). Marshall Dietetics provides an efficient one-year MS/DI program that results in the knowledge needed to become a successful entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) at an affordable price.
Our mission is to develop successful, entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are able to promote optimal nutrition and health to individuals, groups, and communities by providing a variety of nutrition experiences in urban and rural areas.

On November 14, 1970, Marshall University and the Huntington, WV community changed. The plane carrying the Marshall football team, coaches, and community members crashed on its decent into Huntington Tri-State Airport, killing all 75 passengers on board. This story of tragedy and triumph hit the silver screen on December 12, 2006 in “We Are…Marshall” with actors Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Fox, and many other familiar (and local) faces.
